Evening Workshops for New Writers
We are offering four evening workshops to help anyone wanting to start writing a book. How many times have you said, “I think I want to write a book.” Now, here’s your chance to get some help! We will walk your confusion through the struggle of writing a book. Maybe you just need to brush up on techniques or new ideas to advance your writing journey. These workshops are divided into four parts and you can attend all of them or choose which workshop would be most valuable for your own purposes.
All of the workshops are on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:00 pm at the Garden and Arts Center.
February 19, 2025 - Getting started, questions, ideas, and help
April 23, 2025 - Character Development

August 20, 2025 - Getting Into Character
Award-winning fantasy author James Stoddard will lead an interactive workshop on using acting tools to create vivid characters, and will cover how to use those characters to that drive your plot to keep readers turning the pages.

November 19, 2025 - Publishing Options for Authors
International Best-Selling author and Author Consultant KJ Waters will present an interactive workshop on "What Now?" Once you've written your book, what are your choices for getting it out into the world? From pitching an agent, going with a small press, or diving into independent "Indie" publishing, KJ will provide clarity and help you focus on what is right for you.
The cost for each workshop is $30 for non-members and $15 for members. You may pay at the door or on click on the button below.
