About the Event

Writer-actor-producer Rick Treon will give a broad overview of the filmmaking process, starting with the written word and ending with you watching it on the big or small screen! But be prepared – the journey is long, winding, and fraught with obstacles.

Rick has one original docu-series in active Hollywood development, and it has taken a few of those aforementioned turns; has worked on both sides of the camera on sets of all sizes, including his own; is producing short films with his own company, Bomb City Entertainment; and has representation for both his screenwriting and acting.

With this combined experience, Rick will share his knowledge – and some off-the-record stories from sets! – so you can have a better understanding of how your own stories can make their way to a theater or living room near you!

BIO: Rick Treon writes about life and death in the Lone Star State. His speculative action thriller Divided States won the 2022 PenCraft Award for Literary Excellence in Thrillers and was shortlisted for the Silver Falchion Award and Best Thriller Book Award. Rick’s debut novel, Deep Background, won the 2019 PenCraft Award for Literary Excellence in Suspense, and Let the Guilty Pay was nominated for the 2021 Silver Falchion Award for Best Suspense Novel and the PenCraft Award for Literary Excellence in Suspense.
