Lubbock Book Festival 2021
September 25 and 26, 2021
We were a proud partner in bringing the Lubbock Book Festival to life, putting together the panels and writing workshops. A number of our members were also hosting author tables at the event.
Keynote Speaker: Local writing legend, Jodi Thomas, is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over 50 novels and countless short story collections. Her stories travel through the past and present days of Texas and draw readers from around the world.
Festival Panels: We crafted 7 intriguing panels on Saturday and 3 panels on Sunday with various topics geared toward book lovers.
Local Author Tables: Around the library, we had over 40 local authors who are eager to meet you and show off their book babies.
Writing Workshops: We provided writing workshops for anyone interested in learning the craft of writing and book marketing.
Cookbook Nook: Angelina LaRue will host a nook filled with cooking demonstrations and cookbooks for sale. Saturday at 1:15 – 2:00 upstairs in the Tomorrow Lab.
Entertainment on the Lawn: Attendees enjoyed some food truck fare while we entertained the kids. We had some incredible talent performing on the back lawn, Cary C. Banks from the Maine Brothers Band and Cathy Jewell, country music star. Author SJ Dahlstrom and his horse Fancy were outside and even rode through the library. SJ read from his Wilder Good Series and spoke about his horse.
